Happy Dragon Boat Festival — Wishing You Health, Harmony & Strength

As the summer arrives, so does one of the most iconic and meaningful traditional festivals in Chinese culture — the Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Festival. Celebrated on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month, this special day is a time to honor history, health, and unity.

The Spirit Behind the Festival

The Dragon Boat Festival commemorates the ancient poet Qu Yuan, who lived during the Warring States Period. Known for his patriotism and integrity, his legacy continues to inspire generations. People race dragon boats and eat zongzi (sticky rice dumplings) not only in remembrance of Qu Yuan, but to pass on the spirit of perseverance, loyalty, and hope.

A Time to Share Good Wishes

Today, the Dragon Boat Festival is more than a tradition — it's a chance to reconnect with loved ones, embrace wellness rituals, and share blessings. Herbs like mugwort are hung at doors to ward off illness, and families gather to cook, laugh, and enjoy peaceful moments together.
